Welcome to HCHS!
Harlan County High School opened in August of 2008 to replace the county's previously separate public high schools: Evarts High School, James A. Cawood, and Cumberland High School.
Harlan County Black Bear football stands as one of the leading programs in the school. Starting at "Big Man Davis Field" near James A. Cawood and later moving to their own field appropriately named "Coal Miners Memorial Stadium", it is by far one of the best fields in Eastern Kentucky.
