The HCHS Jazz Band is the only auditioned ensemble at HCHS.  We play many different styles of music including swing, Latin, funk, rock, waltz, and jazz ballads.  The ensemble has been featured at the Kentucky State Jazz assessment several years, and continues to uphold it’s tradition of excellence.  The HCHS Jazz Band uses a combination of 5 saxophones, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, and a rhythm section consisting of piano, bass, guitar, and drum set. 

 

For the 2016-2017 year the Jazz Band consists of Jada Cargle-1st Alto Saxophone, Bre Perez-2nd Tenor Saxophone, Brooke Farmer-3rd Alto Saxophone, Brittany Goins-4th Tenor Saxophone, JJ Ramsey-5th Baritone Saxophone, Emily Perkins-1st Trumpet, Katelyn McClure-2nd trumpet, Steven Day-3rd Trumpet, Emily Cornett-4th Trumpet, Chance Turner-1st Trombone, Johnny Smith-2nd Trombone, Dustin Hamlin-Guitar, Aaron Mumford and Grace Dean-Bass, James Eads, Bradford Harris-Drumset.
